Research Interests
Tony's research interests have been focused primarily on investigating the interactions and function of the foot and ankle through the use of computational modeling and motion analysis. Recently his research has been to develop anatomically accurate computer models of the foot and ankle. This analysis also is providing a means to better understand how foot structure (bony geometry) and equinus (limited range of dorsiflexion) affect plantar pressures. The long-term goal of this research is to better understand how the foot functions, reduce the incidence of ulcerations in diabetics, improve shoe and insole design, and provide guidance in surgical correction.
This Site is for patients and researchers interested in prosthetic and amputation research. Veterans can find VA health care information at the VA home page.
