Professional Interests
As the Administrative Officer for the Seattle Rehabilitation Research & Development Center of Excellence for Limb Loss Prevention and Prosthetic Engineering, Mr. Edmundson is the first line manager for administrative and support activities for the Center. He is responsible for personnel actions, space issues, coordination of grant applications, acquisitions, human resources, a $5,893,530.00 budget, fiscal planning, equipment management and inventory. He serves as a direct liaison to the Director in developing and communicating the Center's direction, polices, procedures and overall management.
He assists with major administrative issues that require effective working relationships with the R&D Center, HSR&D and top management at the Seattle VAPSHCS. Additionally, duties include project officer for inter-agency contracts and agreements related to Center projects, and direct supervision of administrative and core support staff. Mr. Edmundson is a member of the Society of Research Administrators.
Professional Experience
Mr. Edmundson is a native of Wilson, North Carolina, and has been the Administrative Officer for the VA RR&D Center, Seattle, WA. since July 2002. He retired in December 1999 from 24 years of active service in the United States Navy. His career included assignments as the Administrative Officer, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit ELEVEN, Whidbey Island, WA; Program Manager, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Arlington, VA; and served as an Assignment Officer, Chief of Naval Personnel, Washington, DC.
