Current Positions 

Dr. Sangeorzan is Director, Research Rehab and Development Center of Excellence for Limb Loss Prevention and Prosthetic Engineering as well as Professor and Vice Chairman of Orthopaedics and Sport Medicine at University of Washington.

He has been a recipient of VA Merit Review funding for the past 13 years to study lower extremity mechanical function and its relationship to disease. Currently funded areas of investigation include "Effect of Motor Imbalance on Bony Deformity and Plantar Pressure in the Foot", and collaboration on studies of the relationship of deformity on ulcer formation in feet of patients with diabetes. He serves on a multitude of VA and professional scientific review boards, editorial staff, and advisory committees. These include; VA R&D, Career Development Review Boards, NIH Multidisciplinary Research Centers and review or editorial positions with Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, Journal of Rehabilitation Research & Development, and Foot & Ankle International. His clinical interest is in surgical treatment of Lower Extremity Corrective Surgery, and Trauma.
